In the Mind

In the Mind

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

They sit together

waiting for the other to speak

yet not a word is uttered

past their lips

as they can not say what they seek

is not one another

but a love of a whole different kind

one that begins not only in heart and soul

but also in the mind.

Sid, Superb poem. This is what it inspired.

The reflection of beauty, a soft glow
Gathers in the shadows of his mind
Thoughts of love and the what ifs
Blanket their minds
No words spoken, only the muse
Of the poets pen
Hidden valleys of emotions
More colorful
Than a midsummer's dream
Whispered upon the lips
Of true love

Great lines.

You have always written such meaningful loving, and yearning poetry...none truer than this.

Intriguing. for the most part love is not thought about, it is simply there. Once they have been together for a long time, two people can also form a bond that is so strong it does not require them to speak, but can simply be felt through thoughts. Interesting relation; very enjoyable!

What a far out metaphor, a unique love in the mind. It really sends ones thoughts out to land I know not where. The irony is within the high concept. Can the mind love? Many different unexplored avenues here.
Perplexing. Thank you!
