A Cup of Tea

A Cup of Tea

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

The light upon yonder house

doth shine tonight

I wonder in this evening light

what may you find in the

morning rays

What are the goings on in my

neighbors lair

Do they watch upon us

wondering the same

or do they care not

that we are suffering from

the lame, the tame, the quite

inane beings as you may be

having our morning coffee

or a cup of tea.

The sameness you imply is contrasted with the curiosity, nice paradox. This one is self effacing and presumptuous at the same time, very intriguing. Nice short launch pad type of metaphor. Like a hand rising from grave's inanity, You see me charge out that door in the morn to tell you what We did do....

Wondering of another one's life and secret desires. A sweet poem that muses nicely about our unique sameness...

Nice work.
