Once Together

Once Together

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

The blank stare upon your face

I can not bear

I would that it were replaced

At least by a passing smile

Once in awhile

Yet this is for naught

as the blackness in your eyes

envelops me

How could it be

that we

were once together?

I loved a man once who smiled so radiantly that I knew I could stay with him forever. He forgot to smile and so I find myself where I am today.

Your words echo loneliness is a beautiful, sad way.

Powerfully short piece
'as the blackness in your eyes
envelops me'
The blank stare that is void of any feelings that once existed
Nice read

Oh this strikes a chord with me Love can and does die sometimes for no reason other than we mature at different rates. But when it does die it leaves such a deep sadness behind

A very powerful and emotional poem. The descriptive words made me feel sad and that is good for the poem. I believe that is the message. And it did make me feel. I liked that. A very very good poem.

Potent thoughts expressed almost whimsically.

Good work, Siddartha. ...the 'passing smile' fit nicely with the darkness in the eyes.

Great!
