Irish Eyes

Irish Eyes

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

Your eyes wink

I wince with anticipation

your green eyes

glitter like a star

reminding me of your homeland

afar-

Green eyes and Irish blood

they flow through me

like I would like to flow

through you-

High cheek bones

accent the rims

around your eyes

they are just a reflection

of your heritage

that shines forth-

Your eyes glisten against

the candlelight

they fill my heart with

sweet delight-

How I would like to

procreate

your Irish eyes.

Will blue mix well with green

we will not know until the end-

your Irish eyes.

I could only imagine how these eyes hypnotize. Ireland is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Such beauty makes one obsess about the secret of it's magic. To look around at the scenery gives a feeling of belonging just as falling in love makes everything just feel right. I flew away not being able to wait to see it again. All of these things make this poem a special one for me.

That is inescapable, arrow strait, and wonderfully Hibernian, with the pangs of longing.
I love the contemplation of children.
Apt.

Very Nice. This has to be one of my favorites of yours so far. Along with "Red Violin" and "Erosion".

This is a real interesting work. It takes several really nice turns along the way. So often I am lulled into a wave of beauty, but your beauty woke me up as I read it. It made me think... I like this a lot. Cheers.

I love the way you are so vivid with the facial features. Green is my favorite color, my eye color too, so I always love poems about green or green eyes.

"How I would like to
procreate
your Irish eyes." -- oh how I would like to procreate these lines of poetry. I love it.

"Will blue mix well with green
we will not know until the end" -- oh yes, blue and green mix to cyan, a wonderful color!

Well done, and have a nice day!
