I seem to recall reading another poem similar to this, before the crash, but longer, but maybe it's the same one, not sure.
Anyway, I love this theme because of how true it is. So many affraid to face who they are, not willing to self examine or listen to the constructive criticism of others. You said so much in so few words. Excellent write here Sid! Thanks for sharing. :)
Hmmm! Yes, a timeless truth indeed! Very well and very efficiently written. I am wondering how other writers are thinking about this poem. It can be disturbing though. Thank you for the courage to tell us about ourselves!
This is so true and makes me wish that more would reflect on themselves before doing things than afterwards. You have really expressed yourself beautifully here.
I found these lines especially inspiring:
"a mirage
of who we truly are
except those bleeding
bloodied
bloodlet
willing to face the truth
of who they are-
what is the truth any way. is it a truth that the shadow of mine on a flat surface is my own reflection? is it the truth that i am built by numerous cells? or that i am a coward to face what i am and the consequence of what i do? ... but there is a profound truth running this chaos we call world... this poem is a great piece from my eternal poet, friend.
This speaks to me about the fact that we are our own worst enemies and we tend to beat ourselves up over every mistake we make. I know that I am my worst critic and I can be so hard on myself at times. But I think that is part of helps us improve in ways.
