When Our Eyes Met

When Our Eyes Met

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

To taste the rainbows I see

Resting within your eyes each day

Is a miracle at last

a True soulmate.

Your voice is gentle,

singing songs like 'Kiss Me Kate'

the Taming of the Shrew

at last has happened so quickly

as you have hold of me

in a way that no other

has been able to accomplish.

You are my one and only accomplice

in this Universe

of ours

filled with pain

you have managed to turn

the rain-

mine to love

not in vain

but with honesty

those rainbows I see

resting there within your eyes

are the window to your soul

as you see mine

green diamonds you say

with a cat's hue

gleaming back

with true love

and no more memories

of jaded skies

but reverence and longing

for you.

The hunt for that lucky clover

we played one day

has brought us together

in an extra special way

always is not long enough

to hold our gaze together

forever and forever more.

I don't believe it! I talk about licking coniptions line and here you are tasting rainbows! And this after the mess Vincent got in after chomping his palette! Like accomplish/accomplice. And the clover reference made me think of the two I found in one moment in the same clump. The poem is very positive and joyful as are rainbows after the deluge.

What a magnificent love song. Light and airy but full of lightning and thunder. Strong stuff.
