Puzzle Piece

Puzzle Piece

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce
"

'Do you feel like a puzzle who hasn't found it's missing piece?' - Coldplay

"

The word

anachronism

recently crossed my desk

a few days ago

do you suppose

this is the plague

we have met?

To exist in two different

times

One calling for the other

yet seperated

by ages

unknown.

Have you found

your missing piece

yet

do you wander

lust free

longing for

the love of that

perfect One

that will fill

your void.

I once thought

I met a man

that met

those expectations

so few

yet so many

as he did not stay

but went along his way

beyond

my comprehension.

Yet, you or he

may fill that space

set me free

from this misery

of looking for that

perfect fit

that puzzle piece

with the right,

to complete me.

I really enjoy reading your poems, they are a sculpture of thought to embrace.
the way ideas inspire understanding in the reader, this poem reminds me of creation, life
love and longing, and mystery. knowing you have found an inner peace
to a struggle and a coming to terms, this poem is a excellent, amazing expression

I think it is human nature to want to find that one that makes us feel complete... it is something many never find... how many times do we think we have it before it disappears and yet we continue looking... oh I feel you on this piece as I think many will.

My favourite verse , it asks alot of questions, i think i've come to the conclussion 1)NO 2) Imposssible
we're sort of doomed if we look for completion in another. We get close fits and mismatches that sometimes we learn from. its a beautiful poem however full of gravitas and longing.
Perhaps in your own words you are making the missing piece :)

Very special way of asking the weighty questions of possibilities. Nice love poem, indeed...!

Hope the questions are all answered one day.

I can relate to this poem on so many levels.
It's quite creepy actually.
It is a plague how anachronism works and prevents us from finding love when we mostly need it, and that whole missing piece in the puzzle - superb!
I'll have to agree with Arthur regarding my favorite stanza, though it was a really hard choice.
You've won me over. ;)

Nice bending and blending of thoughts here. Aren't we, thinking and writing folks, a bit anachronistic for this superficial and image-based world?

Superb!

This universe, small
Compared to the boundaries
Of our minds
To exist as one
Searching for another
Indeed separated by miles
Of time

The clock ticks
With the movement of our hands
I sit here watching the same moon
You are.

Have I found the missing piece?
I believe I have
It's the light of warmth
That shines from within you

No longer wandering the universe alone
Love has its mysteries
That fulfills all voids

Following the shadows of comprehension
The birth of conception to set one free
A gift of love to be shared
Under this nights full moon
