Your Ways

Your Ways

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

I wonder what is this

and what is that

what have you got there

below your cap?

A head, a brain

meant for thinking

and yet you run and play

wax and wane

each and everyday.

But do you use that

gift below

your chapeau

for problem solving?

However, now those blank stares

and words of darkness

that so often part your lips

are now neither here not there

to me.

I care no longer

what you say

or what lurks in those eyes

because you left me uncaring

for those things that daunt

that which obviously

exists not

below that hat.
