A Real Man?

A Real Man?

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

Tonight is the night we say farewell

as here in this darkness

I can no longer dwell

Shadowed by eyes darkened

with the aetheist's fists

Slung out in rage towards me

with every glance.

Tonight is the night we say farewell

no longer lonely

when in your arms I should

have been

instead you ravaged me

with every sin.

Tonight is the night we say farewell

for it is time to release my Light

take flight

from he who has yet to understand

what it is to be a real man.

Beautifully written, powerful, so sad. I can only hope, Siddartha, this is not an expression of pain from your own experience. If so, it breaks my heart. It's painful to read. Your title and last line are perfect.
