Upon Your Dreams

Upon Your Dreams

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

Your scent

it consumes the room

that I am in

your lair

a man's bedchamber

I wonder how to

describe the aroma

Each of you

it seems

has one of these

that travels out

amongst the breeze

of the ceiling fan

upon your dreams

each night

Yours

is coupled with a mild lilac

memory

the sandalwood

that drives me wild

and the silent stench

of last night's ale or wine

They mingle in my mind

as I contemplate

your scent at night

as your soft Zzzzzz's

fill the air.

This poem reminds me of the mystery of attraction and chemistry. I love how the intimacy is apparent, but scent is singled out and focused for question. Very thought provoking, thank you for sharing :)

What a striking contrasts between the fragrant scents and the stink of stale beer... Here are words of a dreamer defiled ... somehow...

Nothing, nothing is more evocative than smell. An aroma of a write.
