A Smile Across the Room

When I met you

a smile across the room

it did seem

that everything about you was

the perfection-

 

something indescribable

as a kinship I felt

beyond a doubt

to that inward nature

I would later know

a bit more intimately-

 

but never flesh to flesh

only minds collided

in a mesh of ubiquitous chatter

that in the end

did not matter-

 

you moved on with love in tow

as I glowered below the surface

of a murky world

sadly, beseeched, yet hopeful

that the smile I once saw upon your face

will never be replaced with remorse.

A poem written about someone. Life's so beautiful admittedly but it's damn harsh too sometimes to live. No one knows what a life brings for us... what a time brings for us at the moment.. but when some unexpected joyous things happpen in the life.. we feel so joy to live more but as we all know time doesn't wait for anyone so with the time when the joy comes and sad moments come into the life.. we feel gloomy and sad and miss happy days.. as same you've mentioned here the smile comes on the face and it goes with the time when the someone moves on along the journey of life. Well created piece, i made some characters into the mind when i was just reading this piece. It seemed like a suspense story... i liked your theme too. Well done, nice imaginary!
