Are You Insane?A Poem by Siddhartha ChatterjeeAbsurdThere lies the Wait. The Wait that no one prepared you for. Under the bright red ceilings and the inside the hastily
painted doors, The Wait waits for you. Silent, intimidating, and immensely
powerful. Give me a day or two, or give me a month. Maybe a year,
even. Can you really bid for time? Doesn’t that wait for no man,
woman or child? But you say it does, in ways incomprehensible for my feeble
mind. Do you want to keep your dreams, safe on the top shelf? You can put a reminder, lest you forget. The ineffable joke is on you, you know. The blue eyes tell a different story, each time. Every time. The sip of coffee has a different ask, each time. Every
time. “Are you happier, if you let go of your morals?” is one of them. Who decides? © 2019 Siddhartha ChatterjeeFeatured Review
