The UnnamedA Poem by Siddhartha ChatterjeeA poem on female infanticide in India.
That elusive hope seems just a mile away,
And the dreams fly high and low, She treads a path not known to every soul, Her struggle lies in the sorrow " A while ago, the sun still shone, A happy time it was " But fleeting joy, ye quicker than the sand, A deceiving foe, a mere shadow of Loss " Her eyes reflect the glory of her little girl, Her charmed glory, her unnamed child, The one who never saw the light of the day, The one who never knew the reason why " And thus she burnt in the burning fire, In the oceans of love she drowned with a vengeance, And in the black forests, the times were wild When she despised the Faith that killed her child... And then they asked, "How dare she question us?" © 2019 Siddhartha ChatterjeeReviews
