A walk to rememberA Story by Rudy HendrockThis is my first entry with Writerscafe so I'm very excited to post this. I thought i'd give a whirl in Romance, it's just a short piece. Something i wrote in about 20 minutes, hope you like it!Her eyes fill my soul with everlasting passion, the way she looks into me shakes every root of my being. Her smile, Heh. Goes beyond comprehending. Almost like a falling sunset glistening off the ocean. The most beautiful sight you could ever imagine. “ I love you.” She whispers to me. I cant control myself as I pull her in for a tight embrace. The melody of her heart beats against my chest like a symphony. Love, true love. A most magnificent feeling. When im with her I can’t even begin to fathom how to control the drum roll my heart plays. I kiss her beneath the ear and whisper my response back. “I love you most.” The only words I can think to explain what she truly means to me. Millions of images come to mind when I try to explain how much I love her, but only those simple words reach my tongue. Her eyes glisten, moist from my response. But how? The phrase is simple, Anyone can say it. But can they mean it like I do? No, that’s impossible. Fingers entertwine with mine, almost impossible to feel because of the numbness her presence leaves me. She leads me toward the water, the sound of waves rolling onto the shore bring me back to reality, back to a place where there’s more to life than just her. But not too far away from where there isn’t. We stop and let the water rush over our feet, a refreshing cool that washes away the intense heat I only feel when she’s around. I notice the wind blowing through her hair, eyes closed as she enjoy’s the moment. I wonder if she needed to cool down too? I hope so. I can only pray I mean as much to her. “I’m scared, I don’t want to lose you.” She says to me, It takes everything in me not to laugh in her face. Lose me? Not even god could separate me from this feeling, I would give up eternity in paradise just to be next to her. “ I’ll never leave your side, this I promise you. Mountains might separate you and I but my heart, will always beat in the palm of your hands.” A soft giggle followed, her cheeks flushed as she wiped her eyes. “ Thank you.” That confused me, of all the things to thank someone for, I never thought my love would be one of them. I can only pray that tomorrow will be like this and everyday to follow, that our love will always be this strong. Never in my life have I ever wished to grow old and die with someone. But since I met her, that’s all I can think about and will stop at nothing to get it.
