My Words, My Lovers

My Words, My Lovers

A Poem by Sianna Reader
"

My words...because sometimes their all I have.

"
The words all sit within my head,
I caress them softly, I let them go,
Oh snowy sheet, oh virgin page,
I worship you, I love you so.

My words seduce me tenderly,
I want them and they want me,
I have a tale for this small world,
And one day it will be free.

Lovers, its true, my words and I,
We make love and calmly lie,
A writer loves their words you see,
If I can’t write, I’ll surely die.

Author's Note

Sianna Reader
Despite having serious writersblock over a story I've been planning for ages and ages, I managed to write hoping it would bring me out of it...no success as of yet but I was pleased with the outcome.

Oh, I've been there, my friend. Many times. Trust me. It's unbearably frustrating, isn't it?
I love this poem, for it accurately expresses what it feels like to /not/ have writer's block. The last line "If I can't write, I'll surely die" is so true for me- and, I would assume, for every other writer worth his or her salt.
As for the bloody abomination that is writer's block, I would have to reccommend Seventh Sanctum. At first glance, it all looks pretty random and useless, but I've gotten some great inspiration from there (see my Poseidon's Sword book for proof).
If all else fails, I find it most helpful to just stop and do something to take my mind off it. Sometimes ideas can jump out at you in the most unlikeliest of times.
Anyway, lovely poem best of luck with the rest of your work! :)
