Spring Is Here

Spring Is Here

A Poem by Sianna Reader
"

Just my little poem about spring...

"

Spring Is Here

Spring is here and winter’s nigh,
The cold has gone, the warmth is high,
The birds all sing amongst the trees,
Children play as they so do please

The lambs are birthed, one by one,
For it’s the season when they come,
Love is ripe within the air,
The kind of buzz that’s always there,

The flowers bloom o'er vale and hill,
The bluebell and the Daffodil,
Their scent is rich upon the breeze,
They claim the humble bumble bees.

The nights grow light, it’s hard to sleep,
No more darkness looming deep,
The heavens shine, the stars are bright,
Moths fly and flutter amongst the light

Pain has gone and life is pleasant,
Joy has risen, love is present,
Spring is here and winter’s nigh,
The cold has gone, the warmth is high

Wow this is how I am feeling right now! It is really great that you are able to use rhyme without it feeling like a second grade poem. I really like the lines, Pain has gone and life is pleasant,
Joy has risen, love is present, that is so deep so much deeper than what I can do. I love the metaphor of spring being happiness and winter being sorrow. I really hope to see more! Let me know when you do!

Very nice. I like how you bookended the poem with the same lines at the beginning and end. Also, the correct usage of "nigh" and "ore" (though it's spelled "o'er") in modern poetry is very rare and nice to see. It gives this piece a Shakespearean quality.

Excellent job. Keep up the good work.

It April 8th today and it's still only 8 degrees here. It snowed all day yesterday. I think Al Gore is on drugs!

C'mon Spring!
