QUEEN OF THE FORESTA Poem by Red RoseThat spark of curiosity..
Leaves rustling beneath my bare feet,
as my velvet blue cape trailed behind me. The long-lived trees now turned golden, bowed before their queen. The inhabitants of the sacred forest watched in quiet anticipation. As the strong wind cleared the path, bringing about the steps carved by nature. Gracefully I stepped on the ancient stairs, just like my ancestors did. I looked up at the enchanting door. Gently stroking the strong hardwood, I placed my hands on the intricate carved handle. Holding my breath I pushed it open to a bright light, not hearing the echoing gasps of the spectators, And entered the realm of everlasting magic.. © 2017 Red RoseAuthor's Note
