What is going on?

People idolize people instead of accomplishments and ideas. That is the biggest problem with our society. The media has definitely played a large part in this, but ignorance is the biggest factor. I don't know if it's a fear factor or just an unwillingness to go outside their comfort zone, but people are unwilling to think and act outside the box.

We live in an age unlimited information and knowledge. We also live in an age of stubbornness and unacceptance. Almost all anyone ever has to do is give in a little bit to an idea, any idea, and think about it just for a little while. We are so quick to judge and rule out ideas before even pondering them.

That is why there's so much hate between people right now. We all think we're right. And for our egos sake, we will deny any information at all that proves us wrong. We blame the other person, and it has to be their fault. That is why we're so ignorant.

And it's our own goddamn fault. And that is exactly why we have the people in power that we have.

A lot of shared ideas between you and I here. All the world is dancing on a string from day-to-day, and while it certainly feels like the world has gotten much thinner and far smaller than how I remember it as a child, is that a positive? It doesn't often feel as much.
