Eyes BeholdingA Poem by Sheala McWilliamsA poem discussing how beauty is seen by everyone but ourselves
Your eyes are the mirrors through which I wish I could see myself
For they are clearer and more pure than diamonds They see no flaws and define my perfections And yet, such eyes find fault, not in me, but your own divine beauty Though your hands are steady and your voice is clear, the questions lie plain in your truthful eyes You find fault, I see pain But I know a way to heal you Let my eyes be your mirrors See yourself as I see you You are perfect, it is clear You are purer than diamonds; no faults lie here All beauty lies in our eyes, as beholders © 2021 Sheala McWilliams |
