A Noble Prince

A Noble Prince

A Poem by Shubham

Once there was a kingdom,
Having a great king.
The people too were happy,
And had plenty to cheer and sing.

There was pandemonium,
At the stroke of dawn.
When the news broke out,
That a little prince was born.

The King had a vision,
Keeping the Prince in mind.
Day and night he thought about it,
Leaving the rest behind.

With great pride, the king said,
He'll rule the world tomorrow.
By doing that, he'll be surely happy,
There'll be no room for sorrow.

In transition, many years went by,
The Prince too had grown.
The king began to train the prince,
In combat, on his own.

The king made him learn,
And the prince obeyed.
And thus with time the prince,
Had learnt his father's trade.

He told him to conquer lands,
He taught him the art of war.
He explained him, that's the quest,
He's actually made for.

Surprisingly, the prince,
At this point disagreed.
He felt it's not right,
To use his powers for greed.

He said, the real quest is,
To unite one and all.
The real challenge is to,
Not let the life stall.

He wanted to surely conquer,
But it was not the land.
He wanted to win hearts,
And provide a helping hand.

The king realised all this,
And he never battled since.
For he knew he's the father,
Of a 'Noble Prince'.
