Author's Note: Wow I love school vacations, I can so take advantage of them to get more than one chapter up. Well here's the second chapter, hope you all enjoy!

Sunlight filters through an open window, gently splaying its light and warmth across a young woman's face. The 6th Squad Taicho walks into the room and has to stop to admire such a rare show of beauty. There in front of him lays his third seat, quietly sleeping away the day healing her final wounds. With the light across Kaida's face, she begins to wake, blinking rapidly to rid the last of sleep's lingering hold. 'Ugh, I'm stiff....need to move.....' A smile crosses Kuchiki's face briefly as he watches Kaida growl lightly and glare in the general direction of the window. 'I wonder if I can finally move, or if I will still have pain....for that matter can I even see, yet?' Bit by bit Kaida lifts and moves a limb before lifting herself into a sitting position. Byakuya hums inaudibly as a wave of warm, calming, and familiar reiatsu washes over him. A gasp announces Kaida's realization that her Taicho is standing in the room. 'How long has he been there? Oooh please say he didn't see all of that, that would be so embarrassing. What would Byakuya think if he sees how weak I am....' Right as she was about to stand up and bow, a hand rests on her shoulder. "Stay in bed. I don't know if you should be moving yet." "I am fine, honestly. I said I would be ready by the afternoon." A not-quite-uncomfortable silence follows for a few seconds. "Even if you were to be moving by then I would rather you take the day off." Kaida looks at her Taicho with a look of pure confusion. "I couldn't do that, Taicho. If I am capable of doing my job than shouldn't I be doing it?!" A smirk tugs at Byakuya's mouth. "Then I say that your job for the day is to relax. And that is an order." "EH! Taicho but......Hai." Kaida despondently responds in understanding. 'Is it because I would be in the way? Or am I just not needed?....or is there a possibility that he actually cares?' Before Kaida's thoughts move on, Unohana-Taicho steps lightly into the room. Upon seeing Byakuya in there, she gives a polite greeting and then moves over to Kaida. "Well it would seem you are a fast healer. Matsu-san around 11 or 12 today you can leave. I still wish for you to take it easy, understood." "She understands Unohana-Taicho. I've already told Matsu-chan that today she is to relax and that's it, until told different." With a heavy sigh Kaida does an undignified sigh of frustration before doing an even more undignified flop onto the bed to lay down. Unohana and Kuchiki both have a hard time containing a small laugh as they watch the willful girl glare daggers into the ceiling.
 

A breeze blows lightly through some trees in the 6th Squad gardens, only a few there to actually enjoy the whispers it brings. Kaida sits under one of the few sakura trees and lowers her sight range to only a few feet around her. 'I guess I can't do anything right now....mmmm this wind feels so nice!'  A stronger wind comes, rustling the branches above, sending the fragile blossoms down to the warm earth. A few unseated officers stop and smile at the sight. How could they not, it wasn't often their third seat would just sit and give this rare smile they see as a petal lights upon her cheek. From the shadows of the porch Byakuya watches as Kaida takes the petal and brings it to her lips before setting it free in the wind. 'The sakura petals are so beautiful! If only....if only he let me near.....' A bitter sweet smile reaches her lips as Kaida realises the irony. 'I need to do something....anything, well almost anything. I will never drink with Matsumoto-chan for a very, very long time. Maybe I could get Kenpa-kun to agree to go to out spot....' Determined to get both Kuchiki-Taicho and Kenpachi-Taicho to agree to let her go, Kaida starts searching. And quickly she notices Byakuya's reiatsu not far away. Spreading her own, Kaida sees her Taicho under the sakura tree not very far away. Quietly she watches as his hair flows in the wind, petals dancing around him. Carefully Kaida approaches Byakuya. "Taicho?"   "Hai, Matsu-san?"    "I have a request. I wish to go visit a place I have not been to in a long while, I am pretty sure that I can get Kenpa-kun to come with me. It's been our spot since we first met."   The 6th Squad Taicho slowly processes this information, all the while watching Kaida.  'I had heard they knew each other for a lot longer then when Kaida was first brought here.....I just did not know that they were that close. I should let her go, Kaida obviously does not handle being couped up for  a long time very well. I can always ask Kenpachi-Taicho to watch her.'    "Very well. But I expect you to listen to my earlier request of not over doing anything. I will have the 11th Squad Taicho informed of that, so behave."   Smiling brightly at the Kuchiki, Kaida bows.   "Arigatou Taicho! I will be back in a few hours!"   With that, Kaida quickly disappears.

Sorry it's so short but I didn't really have much time to work on this, plus I seem to be unable to shake this abominable writer's block. The next one will hopefully be a lot longer and a lot better. Thank you for reading!
