THE LAST SHARE

THE LAST SHARE

A Poem by Shriya Roy
"

What comes as sorrow to me. ,Is happiness for someone ; My little is huge for someone. That's where I know is life's little emotions .

"
THE LAST SHARE @SHRIYA
------------------------
As the waves hailed high and the cacophony disembarked the naked sand ;
As the coloured balloons flew high to preface the joy of the ambience;
A few yards away ,watching ominously at the sea surfs,
Stood a bare footed tramp,
Taken by fate ,the four feet tall ravenous was waiting for his share of the day ,
As disparity plays,two pairs of wet shoes ran through the sand,
Assisted with their hirelings,they stood at the rice ball stall;

The heedless pairs of eyes exchanged glances,
Glances with the naked pair of eyes standing few steps away,
It was an exchange of satisfaction and dead starvation,
Then the seller made his deal,
"This is your share",he said,handing over the two bowls to the toddlers ,
Then rose the murky waters and struck the seashore,
The seagulls fluttered and the dotted umbrellas ran all over,
To protect their tender souls ,all ran to their hideouts;
But ,their was an unsettling stillness in the eyes of the tramp,
He was smiling,his eyes stuck at the bucket where the last bowl was dumped;
There stood a drenched soul with satisfaction ,
With his part of the story in hand,
Tasting each leftover grains of rice now ;
Here was LAST SHARE finally served .
