Mortality

Mortality

A Poem by JStarchild
"

Ponderings about death after my own father's passing.

"

What if I told you that

Death

Is the best thing that could ever happen to you

What if I told you that

Death

Is an old friend welcoming you home

That dying

Is the ultimate liberation

The soul

Released from its birdcage

Would you still condemn

The marks that the dance of life

Has etched on your face

The wisdom

Contained in the decaying of form

Would you still chase eternal youth?
