![]() SHEA Poem by Shreya Dixit![]() This poem is about a girl's emotional struggle in search of a safe haven of love.![]()
She wonders who's gonna love her,
Who will ever admire her? That an average-looking nerdy girl Lost in her own fictional world. A little clumsy she is, With some careless behaviour. A girl with unhealthy routines And some unfulfilled deep desires. She seeks true love and devotion, In this fake world of lies and illusion. She belongs to a place of stifled emotion, Look at her struggling for just a little affection. She endeavours with heart to be a perfect daughter, To live in the society and maintain a good character. She loses a piece of her own self for every love she gives, Compromise, not just a notion, but a life she lives. She needs someone's heart as a safe place to hide From the ups and downs and the darkness she resides. Someone who loves her for what she is A person she can be her unfiltered version with. What an irony, she writes of love, But has never been truly loved. She claims to be a good listener, But her own thoughts have never been heard. She strives to be perfect, With a teeny spark of hope left. Despite never being appreciated, she carries on, Hoping someday her efforts will be won. © 2025 Shreya Dixit |
