Gentle Morning Rain

Gentle Morning Rain

A Poem by John F

Through the gentle morning rain
I hear your voice search for me
Between the quickly
Disappearing dry spaces.

I want your lips to find me there.

They will be the wet streets
I dance along unpatternedly,
Unrestrainedly.

Until we finally see
We have no need
For shyness or modesty.

I will suffer silence
If it means your heart
Will listen for me,
So that in the end,
You will sink with me.

We won’t come up
For air again.

We will have no need of it.

If the sun were to
Disappear tomorrow,
We simply wouldn’t know.

Dear John, this is an amazing poem I love romance poems and this one just made my day and reminds me of my mom because she adopted me and when it says "I hear your voice search for me Between the quickly Disappearing dry spaces." it reminded me of when she fought a lot to adopt me. Second it reminded me of my boyfriend because the line "I will suffer silence If it means your heart Will listen for me" reminded me of when we are far away from each other I know he is thinking of me.

I can't wait to read your newest poems

I smiled at the last lines because how true that can be: literally lost in the moment.. forever?!

John,
Well stated, and not "just another silly love poem." Delightful imagery, word choices, and voice...

Thank you so much, Vol! McCartney said it best in Silly Love Songs
I love this one so much! It makes me think of love, and the longing for someone. My favorite part is when it says "I will suffer silence
If it means your heart
Will listen for me,
So that in the end,
You will sink with me." Because sometimes it takes a while for me to open up and trust someone, But when I do, It's magical, And most people don't know anyone as endearing and delicate as me. You must always be careful with me, For I break easily, but I do not heal as easily.

You're very much welcome!
This reminds of that scene in "Say Anything" with John Cusack and Ione Skye kissing in the rain.
And then I am reminded of a few kisses like that and how precious those moments were.
thanks for this poem....brought back good feelings.
