Spring Equinox

Spring Equinox

A Poem by John F
"

Shamefully didn’t realise it was the equinox until my friend reminded me. This is my poetic offering to excuse my ignorance!

"
This Sunday
We will lose an hour.

Doesn’t bother me.

It would only be
Another hour without you.

My heart’s axis is always tilted
Towards you,
Wherever you are.

Your love is all I’ll ever look for.

But we will never be
In equal light again.

We will forever be
Between sunset and sunrise,
In unbodily resurrection.

And so I’ve decided Spring for me
Starts in early April,
When the bluebells appear
Beyond our garden walls.

And some upwelling of feelings
Surges within a deep memory
that was once physically felt
By some lowly Catholic child.

What a heartfelt poem, showing us how time passes just as seasons changes. It juxtaposes the fleeting nature of time with the enduring nature of love, hinting at the idea that physical separation does not diminish emotional connection.

Your language choice is poignant and evocative, yet simple. Loving the imagery really.

Words like "tilted," "resurrection," and "bluebells" evoke a sense of beauty intertwined with melancholy. Phrase "unbodily resurrection" suggests a transcendent love that exists beyond physical presence.

Greatly written, I definitely enjoyed it.
