And Thus Spoke Leonard

And Thus Spoke Leonard

A Poem by I Shred This Cabbage
"

R.

"
Is this the immutable love
Leonard sighed so longingly for,
Behind small, lonely window panes,
In recompense for having wilfully transgressed Suzanne?

I admit I am his weak indulgence.

I accuse me of letting love rule too
unrestrained.

If I were not so lost, I would try to find you,
The way Adam tried to find Eve after she wilfully choose death.

But perhaps I have overmuch admired your perfection,
Or at least what seemed to be so perfect,
That I believed no evil thing could touch.

wow. this is a deep and complex piece of writing. i have also fallen in the trap of "letting love rule too unrestrained," and so i vibe with this. vibe with every line.
