And Thus Spoke LeonardA Poem by I Shred This CabbageR.
Is this the immutable love
Leonard sighed so longingly for, Behind small, lonely window panes, In recompense for having wilfully transgressed Suzanne? I admit I am his weak indulgence. I accuse me of letting love rule too unrestrained. If I were not so lost, I would try to find you, The way Adam tried to find Eve after she wilfully choose death. But perhaps I have overmuch admired your perfection, Or at least what seemed to be so perfect, That I believed no evil thing could touch. © 2024 I Shred This Cabbage |
