Sacred Muse

Sacred Muse

A Poem by I Shred This Cabbage
"

R.

"
The amphorous muse lives in me.

She stirs up laughter,
And boils down sadness.

I get in there, and speak with her.

She makes sacred memories,
And sacrifices my peace,
so that I may feel anew the pain
Necessary to create again.

Please don’t tell me how this pain began, my love,
And how we first came to inhabit it.

I don’t want it to be healed of it now.

What a song of the “unhealed”! Travellers get the travelling bug, poets got that “pain.” Some very powerful thoughts and truths rolled up into this!
