The Last Days of Blue Skies

The Last Days of Blue Skies

A Poem by R. Gene MacDonald
"

I wanted to write something where words just floated there, and spoke for themselves, but I also wanted to write something that gave voice to the transition from childhood to adulthood.

"

Images blue,

Delirious blue,

Real is blue,

the Skies are blue.

The end is near,

The end of blue skies,

Clouds, and phantoms,

Intrude upon endless truths.

Unquestioned,

Like the way

rain falls,

the ways money is made.

Denied,

The way the cold bites,

Violent, lightning strikes,

The bitter end of blue skies.
