In the sanctuary of reminiscence

In the sanctuary of reminiscence

A Poem by Kristallo

Dahlia scented dew-drops shiver and fall
from the sandy beach of sun-kissed cheek
As dreams ensnare vanilla days by the
sweet curvature of rose-tipped lips.

The lines of my palms intertwine
like sweeping, limber willow's limbs
They weep dusky tears that taste of
the wilting of brittle memories.

Alone, i've let you slip precariously through
the meek cusp of french-tipped fingers
And the crystalline calls of time ring true,
Only when the tide of my thoughts turn to you.

Sweet zinfadel by stemmed glass distracts
The pearls of her eyes wander abroad
Across the jealous wrinkles of time
Sighing away the tune of recycled rhyme

Camouflaging the intensity of
Wicked fears and smoldering fallen tears
so the world can't see the blue of my visage
Drowning in the silent shackles of sacrifice

Scented saffron, the incense of her de ja vu
As surreal petals of pisces-dipped delphinium
Ignites the luscious, blooming kiss
of a waking satyr serenity.

Channeling the sublime of your decadence
is like a sweeping rain, bathed in
refracting images of silvering gleam
Picturesque, his words shine like a gold autumn scene.

The beauty of that first passage transported me to the sea... glinting of sensual sweet songs... From there sensations across time sang, so often bittersweet... and your lingering lines voice the most extravagant of love's wonders. (Even your introduction releases a light to those weary of the darkness... a sweet sanctuary hidden in the mind's hallways... How i've known that garden's grace so well over the years.) You truly know how to charm words and make each line a world unto itself...

Some sparkling lines washing up on a tidal sea of textural imagery. This is rich in evocative language, with a kind of perpetual motion in its essence and structure. A fine balance has been achieved between weight of description and meaning, and in such cases it is something which can easily become overdone and self-indulgent. Well conceived.

This poem and this picture were made for each other, both complex in the visage and mind, I do that sometimes....get lost in my mind to take me away from the realities of life, to sail away on a wind billowed boat out into the sea of forgetfulness, where kisses still burn and the blood still boils like a turbulant sea...gorgeous write .

Poetry as a painting, love the imagery penned. Creatively cool write. Nicely done!

I love this so much K, the esoteric images and colours imagined; Puts me in the mood to play a record by Kate Bush - and perhaps therein lies the beauty, for me anyway - celestial, other-wordly - and above all, original.

This is one of those pieces that didnt need anything extra than the image for the reader to create with the words. Everything is laid to the order for the brain to create something, granted not as close as what you created. But close.

Ahhh.. everyone I've read to day seems to be in a decisively reflective mood! I guess I like the company. Not sure which stanza is my favorite 3 or 5, but as a completed work you have done great justice to all the writers here by allowing us to read. I love how you drift in and out of the frame of reference, from female to omnipotent!
