What mankind can do

What mankind can do

A Poem by Liam Riley

The Dawn Broke.
Open says the sky!
What are we to do today
In this valley of life?

I awoke, breathe, yawn
Looking at my surroundings
Turn over, noone!
Where has she gone

I search, and look
Asking monkeys, and trees for help
No one’s eyes has seen, no ears have heard
Then a note

Come to mountain
I have her!
The one you seek
The one you love

I leave
Wind carries me
I run
Earth crumbles my speed

I see her, and him
Called man kind
Her growth and justice
I, mother nature

No! shouting at mankind
Please, I am not worthless
Cries growth and justice
It must be done

Pushing growth and justice aside
I take the plunge
I am savior
I am dead

Mankind too late
Cries, what have we done!
Reaches in to help
Pulls out a hero
