The Calling.

The Calling.

A Poem by ShortBreadInc

Another band song :]

"

Looking out upon the sea of misery,

Staring back.

Tempting to do all the things you should resist,

Seductive.

Gluttonous, destruction of your remorse,

Way off course.

Stimulate your perception of right and wrong,

Just stay strong.

Wandering through darkness, eclipse of my soul,

Scratching you out beneath skin so torn.

Scratching and seething and burning my eyes,

Thirsty, so hungry your blood as ice.

Forbidden, trespassing into my soul,

Invasion.

Protection, your fragile self is thriving on

Blood unknown.

Heartless lies, your doing's for your only best,

Your body rests.

You're living in lifeless, timeless parables,

Bleak gambles.

Wandering through darkness, eclipse of my soul,

Scratching you out beneath skin so torn.

Scratching and seething and burning my eyes,

Thirsty, so hungry your blood as ice.

I'd trade this life for you,

I'd waste my time on you,

I'd save you from all on this earth,

I'd taste your blood just as soon as you're hurt.

Elements, floating around the air in your embrace,

You cant escape.

Blinding light shines through your skin resisting

Temptation.

Gluttonous, destruction incandescent,

Fluorescent.

Living proof, you're gracious strong-willed heeding life,

Sidestep strife.

Wandering through darkness, eclipse of my soul,

Scratching you out beneath skin so torn.

Scratching and seething and burning my eyes,

Thirsty, so hungry your blood as ice.
