The Dog With No NameA Poem by ShortBreadIncA poem that I had to write in a creative writing class regarding my third favourite animal. I decided to make it into a children's poem. The Dog you see has no tail and no name, And without them, well, it’s just not the same! He has nothing to chase to waste his days, He has no rear buddy with whom he can play. His friends can’t call him for games or to run, To not have a name, oh it’s simply not fun. He was born an orphan and left on the street, Searching and begging for something to eat. Till a sweet little girl with braids in her hair Came upon the pup at the Summer Fayre. She hugged him and squeezed him and held him so tight, And when her mother called “Home!” she put up a fight. She begged and she pleaded and she begged some more, She wept and she sobbed till her throat grew sore! Till at last her mother gave into her pleas, And the girl and the dog they did jump with glee! “You’ll come home and you’ll be my best friend” And then the girl said, “I shall call you, Ben.” © 2013 ShortBreadIncAuthor's Note
