NightmareA Poem by Katharine EileneI slumber peacefully only to find myself afraidI continue to stare out my windows realizing the still falling snow is nothing but a melancholy dream. How can such a dreary night posses memories of hapless ghosts? I breathe once and chaos will only follow my lungs filling with the poison of the night air. One more time please let me inhale this sweet nectar. Allow my lungs to become numb again. Where will I go? A damnation will not await me. The dreams of fallen men will not back me down, but false hopes cannot allow me to embrace my stricken destiny. So tired as my eyes fall flutter in a beautiful beat. I will not be gone for long.....
Demons leave me be, do you really think I want to be seen. Peace will be attained. Lucifer does not own my soul. A thousand cries a thousand screams a thousand voices in my head. Must I continue to float in this awful nightmore? The red flame that I must touch is so cold, where is the warmth of my livlihood? The birds are calling, must I leave behind my kin? Be strong my brothers for I will return with arms full of treasure. Do not worry this is merely an adventure. You cannot follow me the path laid en down cannot be felt. Remember, I will be back. In your dreams.... © 2011 Katharine EileneAuthor's Note
