Hard Lesson

Hard Lesson

A Poem by Katharine Eilene
"

I made this when I was depressed a few months ago. Just wanting to share.

"

There are days, there are times when everything is low.

But face it, truth can be found.

Whether it be in front of your eyes, or in your own heart

There is always an answer somewhere.

Truth be told, time is given.

When we waste that time, we wish for more.

Then is time a gift wasted?

Oh how ignorant we are of life

We’ve lost it all, never can it be returned to us

Can we truly say love?

Such fragile and precious to the touch

One pluck and it shatters into pieces

Why must one indulge oneself in the pain.

Fly pleasurable motions of the rocky shores

And let us soar higher into the darker days

Sweep the ocean floors through impossible heights

Such a challenge.

Truly my favorite stanza. Loving how you say time is a gift, and a precious gift it is.

I've became a fan after reading this. The structure, words, it's all wonderful. The message is clear as a glass in the moonlight, life has hard challenges. "Hard Lesson" is an excellent title for it fits like a glove. Amazed by your poetry, cannot wait to continue to read more. :)

I love how a message so simple can be transformed into words that travel further than your brain and heart, straight to your soul.
