Drift

Drift

A Poem by Jessica
"

Long story short: I walked away from the love of my life.

"

Drift

Floating away from normalcy

Into the unknown

Leaving behind a love desired

In search of a dream

Never had the chance

To give an explanation

Or say "I'm sorry"

Or hear "sorry" in return

Never had a chance to give

Or receive a kiss good-bye

Forever to feel the pain of

The bridge between our soul's collapsing

And never able to rebuild

One is left with the pieces

While the other sails off

Into the sunset

Only to realize

That the dream

Had been right before my eyes
