You Forget Me

You Forget Me

A Poem by Laura

Forget me not while I am here,

While I live, and see, and breathe...

For you shall forget me when I'm Gone,

A whispered name, a passing thought

And then you may move on

To better, bigger wastes of time

As you busy and cloud your mind

With the trivial distractions of life

While I lay silent in my tomb

Wrapped up tightly in my dreams

And my hopes, my aspirations are

All who are left to hold my hand...

My dead wishes sleeping next to me

In an eternal stream of reverie

Remembering all I could be...

As they play life's futile movie

before my eyes forever more.

Here you may

O' you may

 forget away...

But forget me not today.

There's something darkly calming about this piece. It felt as though I was sitting in the tomb with you, taking comfort in the silence. I thought this to be a beautiful write. Nice work.

I like this piece very much, good all around. There is strenght in the words, and they draws your through the piece. Enjoyed this work

In mine, it is supposed to be "I" not "It."
At the beginning it sounds like you just broke up with someone. Toward the end it sounds like you're giving up.
The last line has good empowerment. Although it sounds a little shaky, and almost plea-like, it does have kinda a smart-a*s tone. Very good poem!
