At times it seems that this world is too much

At times it seems that this world is too much,

That the burdens it gives us are too heavy to bear,

As you fight to solve one problem two more are added on,

And as they keep piling on, you wonder if you can survive.

 

Even as we bear these loads that are so weighty,

Still too often we let our stubborn and foolish pride,

Keep us from reaching out to those who would help,

All we would have to do is ask and they would be there.

 

And if we are reluctant to seek help for those around,

It also seems that we shy away from asking for aid,

From He who is above us all, and who can with ease,

Lessen all our burdens, if only we place our trust in Him.

 

So when this world has you down and feeling isolated,

And you are pondering if you can go on anymore,

Reach out through prayer and out to your friends,

And remember that you are never truly alone.
