card distributors, Cool Cards, has been appointed as a distributor for Digicel
mobile calling cards, pending Digicel’s start of service locally. Still, Cool Cards has been aggressively recruiting “cool” individuals for their launch team and the local operation is already geared up and ready to start their aggressive service thrust. The company
said its objective is to have recharge calling cards, both plastic and
electronic, available “no more than a short walk from anywhere in Trinidad and
Tobago.” So says general
manager Jeffrey McFarlane as he expressed excitement over the appointment.
“Digicel is a major partner for us and we have been very lucky to work with
them and other mobile companies, thus offering our customers a true one-stop
shop for all their calling card needs. The Digicel appointment in TT is
certainly a great first step into the market and we have great expectations.” Cool Cards is
arguably the number one selling card distributor in the region, selling over 30
million cards annually in Jamaica and have taken the mobile calling card market
to new levels with innovative and impactful marketing and distribution methods. Cool Cards, a member of the vibrant and diverse Cool Corp. group has just clinched a deal, in conjunction with a major company, to acquire the 56 Shell gas stations in Jamaica. McFarlane added, “We have a winning formula of availability and believe in providing value added rewards for purchasers.” Interestingly,
Cool Cards’ managing director, Andrew Grant, said this was like “coming home”
as his family have been in Trinidad for over 100 years. His grandfather was the
former WI cricket captain, Rudolph Grant, and his great grandfather was T.
