INTORDUCTION: Sky Sora And Nora Jean

The Intro into a confusing mindboggoling Europe.

The air carried the smell of the ocean, the fore-coming of a storm. I stared up at the gray sky, the humid air weighing down the gray shirt I wore. I sat in the grass, picking up the acoustic guitar at my side. I wanted to write a sonnet, but not one like all the mainstream sonnets; one that spoke only to her. Only to the fallen angel I saw last autumn. I strummed the chords and stared at my fingers. Such frail tiny bones beneath the skin. I lifted my turquoise eyes to the sky, my tussled violet hair, unevenly cut and short lifted up by the wind. Chow lifted her head off my knee.

“Neat dog yeah,” A male voice complimented the large fluffy albino Chou beside me.

“Thanks.” I flushed, embarrassed. I tugged at the neko hat I wore.

“You play yeah?” He asked, his shaggy wheat-blond hair falling against stark blue eyes.

“A little. Why do you say 'yeah' at the end of everything?” I asked strumming again, the soft notes whistling vibrant words to my ears. “You're not from around here are you?”

“No, I'm not. Zeek's the name.” He grinned a devilish reckless grin.

“Zeek.” I mused. “Sky's my name.”

He nodded slightly.

“Sky, yeah?” He repeated, sitting on the fence. “Ya' know, Sky, word has it you saw Aney. 'S true?”

Aney...Aney was the fallen angel. They say if you see her more than once and play her a sonnet, and not just any sonnet, she'll give you anything you want. Some have asked for eternal life, but, there are things that fallen angels cannot grant. All I want is to see her, just to see the beauty she beholds, just to be with her, just to fly the skies with her.

“Aney eh? Once.” I said ruffling Chow's fur. Her eyes were two different colors; the left was blue and the right was red. “Now why bring such a topic up?”

I eyed this “Zeek” suspiciously. He looked like he was part of the Commission. He picked at the old white paint, his eyes in a distant haze. His thin eyebrows furrowed.

“Nora.” I breathed. The name sent Chow into a rampage, barking and growling viciously. “I should of known it'd be you.”

The male laughed.

“How'd ya' know? Guess I don' look like a Zeek do I then, Sky Sora?” He looked at me, the gaze in his eyes sending a shiver down my spine. A sleek end of a silver pistol pointed at me. “Where's Aney?”

“You know as well as I do Nora, Aney only appears every so often. How the hell would I know where she is now?!” I slung the guitar on my back and flipped up my hoodie. I hated the Commission, and I hated Nora for joining it to begin with. Such potential wasted on killing innocent people.

“My job isn't to kill you Sky, I'm just gonna have to keep an eye on you.” Nora stated, hopping off the fence, and holstering his weapon.

“I told you when Mom died I didn't want anything to do with the Commission.” I snapped, tugging Chow's collar. She hushed up and followed me. “Keep an eye on me all you want, Aney only shows herself to the--”

“Purified.” Nora finished with disgust. “Since when did history state that only good guys get what they want?! Why does it always have to be that YOU get what you want?!”

I stopped walking. Nora only knew the old me, the girl with everything, the girl without a stain.

“Ever since Mom passed, cousin, I've worked myself to the bone everyday to afford food. The Sky you knew isn't me. I want no affiliation with the Commission,” I locked my eyes onto his. “Nora Jean.”

“Fine. I'll falsify your death, just let me tag along.” His voice was suddenly soft.

“Nora,” I growled. “ARE YOU BIPOLAR OR SOMETHING?!!”

He sighed.

He was quiet for a long moment. A small nod.

“That's why I can't kill you. The Commission doesn't allow the afflicted to take up any Projects. So I quit last month, and followed you. I didn't think they targeted you anyway, you haven't done anything wrong.” He picked at the grass. We had sat back down. “Besides...I've wasted six years of my life staining my hands with the blood of the innocent. I just want to see Aney one time before I die; I don't want anything from her.”

“Fine.” I sighed. “You can follow. Last place I saw her was in the region of Nisai.”

“Which way did she fly?” Nora asked, getting to his feet as I did.

“Straight into the sky. Aney doesn't want the Commission to track her.” I looked at him. Nora was full of lies, so I couldn't truly trust him. “Empty your pockets.”

The phrase always revealed whether or not he was lying. If he bolted, he was lying about starting over. He bolted.

“You conniving b*****d!” I screamed after him. “Tch. Who needs him anyway? C'mon Chow.”

I headed for Mount Hisho, in the region of Nisai once more. The spot where the Auroras lighted the skies, the home of Aney.
