yes...moon delivering to me

yes...moon delivering to me

A Poem by Shirlena
"

i feel love love writing poems about the moon

"

crazy…I favor midnight affairs

even if it isn’t mine

I love someone else’s love

but now it is the moon

reaching into my pockets

tugs away at skirt linings

without interfering with flair

for the eclectic and doesn’t breath

impressed by singleness thus far

and oh yes preservation

see’s with passionate ripples

and now…well the moon

you know how I love my moon

is reaching for me

moon reaching for me

rotating like itunes on a good evening

nah sistah love as this is the stance

of fighting ignorance naievete’ desperation

no longer writhing in desolation

It’s gone be said in as many syllables

as can be said

breaking it down as only I can take it

contemplating over shapes of pale circle

awe of colossal roundness bathed in light

wrapped in bliss of navy deep

bragging lauding you know how it does

and you know how I love…

love a big jovial laughing star

moon that at last suspends there…

and not so far from me anymore

yessss misses sister…my turn

my moon reaches for me

I'm pretty sure the moon sways and shines in a totally brilliant light just for you...there's a swagger to your words that is unmistakably madame Shirlena....suga suga spiced poetry.

I've had this one saved for a while and was just waiting for your next visit to offer my review, now hopefully I get it in before you leave haha I'm a sucker for lunar imagery, especially when its given a fresh treatment, as it is an oft-applied image...but you always bring fresh insights to the most universal themes, and I fell in love with this one from the get-go...I've read it a few times and the first stanza always sets me up for a different interpretation and an unlocking of another emotion...I'd require a book to outline all of them, but it essentially sums up how I feel upon reading the romantic works of others...I cannot write 'odes' for the life of me...I'd love to sit down one day and just offer a loving and tender tribute to a lover, but they never come out that way...I took a measure of wryness from this piece (perhaps just my own interpretation) that didn't belie its romantic aspects in the least...there is all kinds of majestic imagery scattered through this piece that I enjoyed, and continue to enjoy, immersing myself in...nicely done my friend, this is a new favourite for sure :)

What I like about this is how it can be taken a couple ways -- that is the beauty of a poem like this -- it can be somewhat literal, or about someone entirely different -- I am glad you stopped by today. What happens is I wait for your writes sometimes, and they are unpublished, and then I get side tracked. Glad your review brought me back.

Shirlena --- I dedicated a whole book to it...well...we cannot forget about the Ra...also...but the vibe of this work...it again has a voice...like you need a radio talk show for these verses and read them to an audience...I keep saying that...in my comments...but the mood and feel would add to the write...once again...its another one for the bookshelves...

This one shines brightly today Shirlena. I love how you have brought this moon close enough for us to touch it along with you. What a fantastic poem I have found here today.

am much more able to swallow jazz moon, than some of that sass, the cadence is very shirla-dee-dee.

I can see the sky, rotating on issue and feel the heavens petting the stars they like best & the queens of prayer, love what you love.

yeah I pulled an all-nighter, hence my slip-tongue.
That moon is always creeping round our window trying to peek into our night, steal away our days. Such a fun game that it plays with us. I feel you and I were on the same poetic wave length with in the last week!

Your words ripple on magical waters as the reflection of the moon is reaching to you. You contemplate shapes and bathe in wonders of the nights...Bravo............
