always wanted to be Anita polishing her apple cakesA Poem by Shirlenasometimes you just want to be the girl the men are gawking at'Neet know she got it gravy all the fellas tongue’s wiggling like little street sweepers the one’s who prefer drawstring head covers with proper creases yellow stitching on a rough dark sheen men writing just to spell her name actually even white collar and Argo in navy dress pants ask around to inquire where she disappears to once she has exited their limited frames must be the deep trench in her back standing upright five inches supporting her heels the way they make the bottom pendulum when she isn’t moving below middle of the spine pops males discern what Anita is saying without engaging her mouth when she converses easy petitions are granted understanding it’s just a matter of slick adjectives and minutes requirement for improv has swiveled out of gates and so I internalize envy appreciate the prospects of being understated
