everything must dissipate…convincing self

everything must dissipate…convincing self

A Poem by Shirlena
"

when he's gone

"

won’t be sitting orange electric

watching  The Last Dragon” no more

one of your favorites thangs especially Vanity singing

while alarms of sensibility clangs getting on my nerves

needling vision to restore... indulging my brood

don’t want to sow seeds that lead down ravines of self pity

waiting for that serving to grow cold

right now things still percolatin’ weighing metal on mind

as for the heart… it laments overtime…I need to scribble in it’s occupancy

return S upon the vest…shouldna never released the girl

who bestowed  this honor in the first place

won’t be listening to beloved jazz... alternative r&b

classical  we shall become reacquainted

resist the welcome to sorrow in your absence

pleading my presence… will learn to hate you as I love you so much

everything must dissipate (love you so much)

incidentally… not everything

don’t want to sow seeds that lead down ravines of self pity
yes, love that line. things we plant that take root and grow - our words are the most tenacious.

Thank you and yes I agree that are words can persist and linger. Thank you again for reading TL Boeh.. read more
You pen a sleepy velvet diction, and sometimes being surprised is more important that it being pop-poetry worthy. It pleases me very much to read your words, like an instrument that is not well known, an oboe perhaps.

The worst poets are the unoriginal ones, and that can never be said of you. And for my ear, that is more than enough for me. Some lines are quite genius like:

resist the welcome to sorrow in your absence

Add me to the list of those who were blown away by the ending...so many emotions at play in those lines. We try so hard to move on from lost loves, and we try so hard to convince ourselves that their loss will not infringe upon our future contentment...then we come across one innocent idiosyncrasy that reminds us of that loss, and we are instantly transported back to the painful realization of its end. I don't know, that's what this poem says to me, hopefully I'm not too far off the mark haha I'm very much in melancholy mode these days and these are the types of poems that are speaking to me the loudest...great work my friend.

"pleading my presence… will learn to hate you as I love you so much

The above lines stood out. When the love is gone. Rarely can be found again. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
