from the cold blinding reality

from the cold blinding reality

A Poem by Shirlena
"

brrrr it's cold ya'll

"

gazing from round cathedral window panes

is the roof dusted of partial candy swirl

as snow doesn't seeth while casting itself

in granules of crystal pearls

and where it sits the sting wishes to find me

glistening amongst the branches

stiffening up the season

coziness and gratitude sends warmth

blessing my toes

where it doesn't cover there's lounges and a robe

cups of bush tea with magazines on tables

happy is security of a pen having fair

to whisk me away when I can't ride from this chair

only day skipping and pondering

envisioning a scene that isn't mine

so I'll keep wandering and staring from a view

I'm privileged to incline

Oh thank you for your time Cassie.
Knowing it is a gift or a privileged to even know cold and pain is a strong place to view the world from. This vantage point allows you to learn and grow. It also allows you to find a warmth to kindle...

I love how you can take two elements, like religious imagery and cold, and explore them so well. It is like a piece written as a duet for two instruments. Both instruments know their place an come in and go out at just the right moments. Together they create a scene so vibrant and frigid that we can feel it in our bones. The sting of the cold is piercing into the warmth of home, but you can take the chill off with your positivity and warmth and exploration from the pen and paper you keep handy. Wherever you have your mind, you have a story you can tell of a far off land where you can be warm...It may not be "your" scene, but you are self aware enough to be privileged to enjoy it! Truly a blessing!

Being somehow on a snow vacation or a spa window relaxed in a robe and slippers losing yourself in a good book skipping and pondering on life in your own priviledged imagination...A splendid read and write...:)...............
