The 11th of September

The 11th of September

A Poem by SJ Roebling
"

In memory of lives lost on 9-11

"

The 11th of September

The 11th of September
Another day had begun
At the World Trade Center
And the Washington Pentagon.

Some were running late
On their way to work that day
Little did they know
Their lives spared by this delay.

Others boarded planes
Anxious to get to their homes
Never knowing they were boarding
Deadly terroristic bombs.

Now our peaceful Nation
Standing amidst death and debris
Lifts its' faces to the Heavens
Vowing forever to be free...
