Addressing the Cause…

We cringe,

We cry,

We sigh in dismay.

At all of the problems in the world today.

 

We suggest,

We express,

We back causes and pleas.

But these problems keep growing despite all our deeds.

 

Could it be,

That maybe,

We are doing it wrong?

By ignoring the cause and treating the symptom?

 

And it seems,

That it has,

Always been this way.

Don’t agree? Take a look back in time from this day.

 

Disease,

Famine,

Violence and crime.

Child abuse, drug misuse… all signs of the time?

 

I think not,

For you see,

It’s much deeper than that.

As our habits as humans create what we begat.

 

So, just maybe,

If we look,

At all possible cause.

We might find the solution for what is and what was.
