"A Man and his Guitar"A Poem by SJ RoeblingFor Nick Black...A Man and his Guitar (For Nick Black) A man and his guitar, Are much one and the same. An extension of himself, Part reason for his fame. The choice is always personal, When it comes to a guitar. For a musician it’s like choosing, Who and what they are. Fine tuned to a precision, Fits him, fits like a glove. Can’t tell where one begins or ends, An artist’s first true love. With him through every set. Waits patient for new strings. Doesn’t mind the nicks and scratches, So long as it can sing. Brings forth its owner’s music, As it was meant to be. With artful licks and soulful riff’s, In perfect harmony. God forbid it turn up missing, This tool that makes him whole. For to take away a man’s guitar, Is to take away his soul. SJ Sinister/Copyright/2007 (Shirley Petrandis)
