"For Noah"

"For Noah"

A Poem by SJ Roebling
"

I wrote this poem for a young, male friend of mine who is battling Leukemia. He is a tireless and loving soul!

"

~For Noah~

Take me down to the sea once more,

To the sound of the seagull’s cries.

So I may feel the sting of salt on my skin,

And shield the sun from my eyes.

Let me burrow my toes deep in the sand,

Watch the waves as they play at my feet.

And forget all my worries, sadness and pain,

Once again feel like I’m complete.

All I need is a ship and the deep blue sea,

A few mates and a keg of rum.

Hoist the sails, man the deck, and tarry no more,

Then say goodbye to me lass and me mum.

So take me down to the sea once more,

To the place that I most belong.

I’ll walk with the Captain’s on every shore,

And be remembered long after I’m gone.

Aww, this is a sweet and vivid way to show this man's spirit. I love how you make him such an open and free-hearted soul. I hope he loved this to pieces! This is a great tribute! Blessings to you SJ!
