Demon Today

A Poem by Sen

Beneath my skin.
This hatred burning from within.
I feel you staring at me again.
It cuts through my veins.
You turn away.
All I hear is your disgusting laughter echoing through my mind.
I shut my eyes to relax.
I take a deep breath.
My grip tightens on the pencil.
Slowly my eyes start to open.
The laughter continues.
Looking up I see you from the corner of my eyes.
Whispering with another human.
I do my best hold in the fury.
It isn't worth it.
Holding in the screams.
The taunts begin.
It isn't worth it.
Suddenly my fingers begin to scratch at my throat.
And then a voice says to get up.
Forgetting all consequences, I stand up.
I take a step forward.
You don't even notice.
Nothing but violence clouds my mind.
There's no place for you to hide.
What now?
The voice speaks again.
Do it.
My head feels light.
I support my hand on a desk.
People start staring.
And you still haven't even noticed.
Head raised high.
I sneak up behind you.
My hands wrapped around your neck.
I throw you to the ground.
You curse at me and I just laugh.
No one tires to stop me.
You can tell I'm not myself.
I am a demon today.
