It's Called 'Clearing Up'

It's Called 'Clearing Up'

A Poem by John Galloway
"

Oh yeah. Just a poem. Weird poem. Good though.

"

How confusing life is,
I'm crawling through,
Being distracted by all these lights and sounds,

I'm crawling through,
Being bribed by my own mind,
Yeah, it can bribe me,

Well, it does a good job,
I fall in the bribe,
But my mind lied,
It offered happiness,
In return for instant gratification,
Which, in transaction, is a thing called "being naive"

Well, those lights and sounds cleared up one day,
And my mind finally shut the f**k up,
And there was a hand reaching,
As if it were going to help.

And, help it did,
And, finally, I learned to take a bribe from the right artery:
My heart.

Oh yeah, oh yes.
A chance at love?
Sounds absolutely delicious.

I felt a bit of sarcasm from this, amid the happiness. So it goes.

I fall in the bribe,
But my mind lied,
